Retrospective Scooters book - NOW ON SALE

I've decided rather than registering everyone's interest for book to put it on sale as pre-order. Orders will be despatched from 19th April 2013, following the official book launch on 18th April. Therefore you can now place your order for book with despatch from 19th April. See link here to order book -

I'm sorry the postage is expensive for customers outside of the UK; there's not much I can do about this & have spent some time researching the cheapest costs while still covering myself, with signed for delivery to ensure the book arrives at the correct address.

Payments will be handled securely through PayPal.

If you have any queries, you can email me at

3rd Vintage Douglas Vespa Run

20 by vespamore photography

Got my film back today which had on it the remaining 35mm film shots I took at last Saturday's 3rd Vintage Douglas Vespa Run.

I only ended up with 20 reasonable shots as the weather was so bad & my fingers were too numb to be taking fotos !

Slideshow below...

Retrospective Scooters - Book Launch Party

Event page for Retrospective Scooters Book Launch now live, click link - here

Just about there now - the book of 35mm film fotos I've taken at Retrospective Scooters in North London over several years, will be launched on Thursday 18th April 2013.

I'm proud of this collection of work & feels great to see it in print. Am also very pleased with the excellent layout work that's been subtly yet expertly applied by graphic designer, David Hardy from Team S Equipe.

The book will be launched during the evening of Thursday 18th April at a great little venue called the Cat & Mutton pub, in Broadway Market, London E8 - all are welcome. From 7.30pm - closing time there will be some cool tunes being played & the new book will be on sale too which is priced at £29.50.

There will be a free A3 poster of launch flyer (see above image) given out with the first 20 books sold on the night.

For those who cannot make the launch but would like to buy a copy of the book, you can pre-order the book here with orders being despatched on 19th April, the day after the launch. It is priced at £29.50 + postage and packing to UK/Europe/Rest of the World, available from the vespamore online store here

Initially the books will be on sale via the vespamore, Retrospective Scooters & Team S Equipe websites. The photography is the main feature of the book with limited text passages printed in English, Italian & German.

Cheers - Paul Hart.

Team Vespa Barcelona, the talented guys behind VTR recently got in touch asking me to spread the word about the upcoming sixth edition of Vespa the Resistance. I'm very happy to oblige & advertise such a great event. Some teams from England attended last year & TVB would love to see more UK teams in 2013 & no doubt teams from the Emerald Isle too...

"For the sixth year running we are pleased to present the new edition of VESPA THE RESISTANCE. This year, for the second time there will be 24 hours of resistance. This year we still running at Zuera International Circuit (Zaragoza), a circuit that allows us to illuminate the entire layout, good facilities and services, and a camping area.

In this edition, as before the categories will be smallframe series, smallframe proto, largeframe series, and lambretta largeframe proto."

Visit TVB's website for full details of how to enter a team -

3rd Vintage Douglas Vespa Run

08 by vespamore photography

March 16th 2013 - I got up stupidly early this morning to go to Epsom Downs & get some film shots of the third edition of this event.

I had a rain soaked ride there on the Motovespa & could hardly feel my numb fingers while taking shots in the cold horizontal rain & strong winds. I then climbed back on the scoot & rode back to central London to start a day's work... Despite the soaking I was glad I went; this is a pretty special event & you rarely get to see such lovely old rare Douglas Vespas all together in one place.

Some more shots to follow when I finish the other film I started.

You can see the shots I took at the inaugural Vintage Douglas Vespa Run in 2011 here

Also have a look at these shots taken by Richie Lunt via Scooter Geek at Saturday's event -

I came across this lovely image taken by Andrea Scirè  & asked if he'd let me post it on the vespamore site to which he kindly agreed.

I love the close-in detail & blue tones in this shot; you can see one of my own fave 50 Special film shots here

Please respect the artist - do not use or copy Andrea's image without his prior consent.

Andrea - grazie mille ; )

Another great image seen via Black Coffee Club

I'm still surprised by the amount of folk who question the name of the website - 'vespamore'. It's simply a combination of vespa & the Italian word for love - 'amore'. So quite literally vespamore means vespa lover which sums me up, the main theme of my film photography & the essence of the website - there you have it ; )

The Mutant

I remember reading about Marcus Wimmer's awesome project Vespa GS 225 VS5 '60s Style Racer, so called 'The Mutant' in Scootering magazine (October issue 2010). If I remember rightly Austrian, Marcus was resident in the UK where he built his GS racer with advice from the prolifically successful racer, Charlie Edmonds, before moving back to Austria. - anyway if you don't possess a copy I'd advise you to get the back issue from Scootering & read the full article, it's worth getting just for this feature.

You can see more of Marcus' creation by clicking link here to his album of shots on FB.
