Re-blogged from Vespa Owners Garage blog

I love scoots like this beautiful 1973 Vespa GTR shot on 35mm film, with my Olympus OM-2N at Retrospective Scooters - 23.3.15. The silver paintwork looked great against the burgundy ribbed shipping container, which I chose as a backdrop. I really hope this isn't stripped and resprayed... see the full set of shots I took of this GTR here

For many more great film shots of lovely, original paint vespas, you'll need to lay your hands on a copy of my Retrospective Scooters book, which is available to order securely online here

Beautiful GS150 VS1 currently in for restoration at Retrospective Scooters

Really nice, original 50 Special I photographed on 35mm film at Retrospective Scooters in early March. This was waiting to be re-assembled and thankfully wasn't going to be stripped and re-painted, I love this Piaggio yellow ochre colour.

I visited Retrospective Scooters again last week and this cinquanta speciale was finished and back together, ready for collection by its owner. I took some more film shots and will get the film developed very soon. On the same visit,  I also shot a nice original silver GTR and this Douglas 152L2. More film shots here that I've taken at Retrospective over the years...

Great candid, street shot by Dani Mantis with this red Ape in Lisbon, Portugal

New vespamore blog header, type overlaid by David Hardy. Foto taken by me recently on 35mm film in early March 2015.

Back to the '80s

Just got back from visiting a client in South London on day job duties. Spotted this slightly tired looking original '80s Mini; not entirely sure if this an X-reg (1981/82) or D-reg (1986/87), I'd probably say it's an X plate...

Anyway, pretty rare to see one in this condition; the 'A' panels weren't too bad either, considering it's age. This was taken on iPhone; I also started my new roll of film with a few shots of this Mini.

vespa mia

vespa mia

Got my latest film back yesterday which always gives me a buzz of excitement after waiting with anticipation to see which shots are as good as I'd hoped, plus the occasional disappointment of a dud shot that I had high hopes for and the always welcome 'pleasant surprise shot' which turns out better than expected !

Anyway this latest 35mm film roll included new shots of my own Motovespa GT160, supplied by North London's Retrospective Scooters all came out pretty much as I'd hoped and was pleased with most of these,.. you can see more of the shots I took earlier this March in my own scoot album here

If you like these film shots, you'll love the second edition of my book, Retrospective Scooters which is full of film shots I've taken of mostly original paint classic vespas and is available to order at £29.50 + P&P -  here

The Devil is in the detail...

Great shot by Happiness is a journey... and vice versa aka Auste and Vidmantas, taken at Bangkok's 68 years of Vespa festival, see full album here

Like the inclusive, happy atmos in this scene, reminds me a bit of this shot I took a few years back at the Veteran Vespa Club Tring rally which I went along to with my wife, young daughter and friends, who are pictured enjoying a spot of al fresco dining...

DISEGNO DI Pininfarina

cavallino rampante

Walked past HR Owen on Old Brompton Road earlier; they must have been having a move around due to the Ferraris parked out front. At first they had an F40 (not pictured) and F50 parked nose to nose outside the showroom. Then a beautiful 288 GTO came down the road before coming to a stop in front of the F50. The F40 was then taken around the back leaving these two pictured above. I shot the GTO recently when it was inside the dealer's showroom here

I shot a couple of film frames finishing my current roll in the process; I hope I got a couple of decent shots of the GTO which was definitely my fave of these three...
